Share UCSF data responsiblyWarmed by the FHIR How the Digital Diagnostics and Therapeutics Committee Encourages Innovation and Governs Access to FHIR Resources
UCSF is seeing a dramatic increase in innovators looking to create digital tools which can leverage patient data to improve healthcare through access to the EHR. The Digital Diagnostics and Therapeutics Committee currently has 8 projects in production and 11 in the UCSF ACE6 test environment. These innovative projects are providing groundbreaking solutions to healthcare problems.

But the rise in digital tools carries with it the challenge of protecting our patients and their data in an ever-changing landscape of concerns about data sharing, privacy, and regulation.
Over the past year the dD&T committee has worked to ensure digital tools are deployed safely and effectively across the institution, while at the same time looking to standardize a process that will be equitable, provide cutting-edge patient care and encourage innovation.

In this session we will be discussing the dD&T intake process and how we support innovators in testing their ideas in the APeX environment while also being proactive to the increasingly complicated challenges of integrating apps with the EHR.
