Time:

Room:
Rutter Center Conference Room 1
Track:
Data & Analytics
Description:

Earlier this year, UCSF purchased a subscription to Dimensions – a powerful research analytics and competitive intelligence tool developed by Digital Science. Dimensions is a dynamic, easy-to-use platform that offers a better, faster way to discover, understand and analyze the global research landscape. Users can explore the connections between different researchers and institutions and access scholarly data, such as funded grants, publications, clinical trials, patents and policy documents that they have contributed to the academic sphere. This tool enables researchers, staff, and leadership to measure and assess their research impact, identify collaborators and competitors, and use the data to inform decisions and develop strategic initiatives. We will give a brief overview of the tool (10 minutes), describe resources available to support the use of Dimensions (5 minutes), and demonstrate some exciting use cases developed by colleagues at UCSF (20 minutes). This session will be presented by members of the Research Development Office, Library, and Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
