Margot Kushel, MD is a Professor of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, the Director the UCSF Center for Vulnerable Populations and the Director of the UCSF Benioff Homelessness and Housing Initiative. Margot's research focuses on the causes and consequences of homelessness and housing instability, with the goal of preventing and ending homelessness, and ameliorating the effects of homelessness on health.  She maintains an active clinical practice.  She speaks at a local, state and national level about issues of homelessness, and frequently provides testimony to legislative bodies. 

Dr. Kushel received her AB from Harvard, her MD from Yale and completed a residency and chief residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in general internship medicine at UCSF.
