Morning Speaker

Thomas Lee, PhD Thomas Y. Lee is Associate Adjunct Professor of Operations and Information Technology Management at the UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business and Director of Data Science for the Berkeley Haas, Fisher Center for Business Analytics. He holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from MIT's Engineering Systems Division and B.A. and B.S. degrees in Political Science and Symbolic Systems (Artificial Intelligence) from Stanford University. He served as a Data Science Research Fellow at frog Design and has taught with Cooper Design on the intersection of Data Science and Design. He was previously Assistant Professor of Operations, Information and Decisions at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

Afternoon Speaker

Margot Kushel, MD is a Professor of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, the Director the UCSF Center for Vulnerable Populations and the Director of the UCSF Benioff Homelessness and Housing Initiative. Margot's research focuses on the causes and consequences of homelessness and housing instability, with the goal of preventing and ending homelessness, and ameliorating the effects of homelessness on health. She maintains an active clinical practice. She speaks at a local, state and national level about issues of homelessness, and frequently provides testimony to legislative bodies.
